A new chapter in Phoenix hospitality
This transformation brings a polished, fully integrated model to the historic venue, ensuring every event, from weddings and corporate galas to concerts and brand activations, is executed with seamless attention to detail, elevated service and a strong commitment to sustainability.
“Monroe Street Abbey is a breathtaking space, but delivering an extraordinary event requires more than a beautiful setting,” says chef and COO Steve Short. “It takes seasoned hospitality, flawless logistics and a culinary vision that enhances every moment. That’s what we’re bringing to the table.”
Where culinary vision meets historic architecture
With this evolution, Monroe Street Abbey now stands as Arizona’s most distinctive open-air venue, where history, hospitality and bold culinary experiences meet under the desert sky.
Originally constructed as the First Baptist Church of Phoenix, Monroe Street Abbey has been reimagined as a one-of-a-kind architectural showpiece. Designed by celebrated architect Eddie Jones, the venue features a soaring open-air courtyard accommodating up to 600 guests.
The venue also boasts a new climate-controlled ballroom, lush greenrooms, private terraces and a fully equipped commercial kitchen, all seamlessly integrated within the historic structure.
Elevated service, integrated experiences
Under the stewardship of the Steve Short Culinary Team, Monroe Street Abbey now offers clients not only a spectacular backdrop, but a truly elevated event experience, including expert culinary service, professional event coordination, and full-service, in-house bar management through its dedicated liquor license operations.
From weddings and corporate galas to private concerts and brand launches, every event at Monroe Street Abbey is designed to leave a lasting impression through exceptional service, elevated cuisine and a setting unlike any other in the Southwest.
