As many regions of the Southwest start to pack away pool floaties and beach towels, fall foliage and seasonal decor emerge from storage boxes. Along with the hopes of crisp autumn evenings and s’mores by the fire-pit, there are…pumpkins! Pumpkin patches in the Southwest welcome all this autumnal season with gourdgeous selections of everyone’s favorite squash.

Arizona

MacDonald’s Ranch (Scottsdale, AZ)

One of Arizona’s most beloved fall traditions, this pumpkin patch comes with hayrides, pony rides, a petting zoo and of course, a massive selection of pumpkins. Visitors can pick pumpkins from Oct. 4–31 this year (they’re closed on Tuesdays). All tickets must be purchased at the door, and discounts are available on select days (prices vary).

Mortimer Farms (Dewey, AZ)

Mortimer’s annual Pumpkin Fest & Corn Maze returns Sept. 26–Oct. 27. This family-friendly extravaganza hosts activities from 9 a.m.–9 p.m. on Fridays through Sundays (select weekday hours vary). Guests can enjoy farm-to-table eats, live entertainment, hayrides, food trucks and a bustling marketplace. Tickets are available online and at the gate, with prices starting around $20 and discounts offered on select days.

New Mexico

McCall’s Pumpkin Patch (Moriarty, NM)

With zip lines, hayrides, a haunted corn maze and pumpkin picking, McCall’s is one of the largest and most popular patches in the state — 28 years running. The Pumpkin Patch will be open to the public Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m.–6 p.m. (Sept. 20–Oct. 26) and Fridays 12–6 p.m. (Oct. 10, 17 and 24). The Haunted Farm will be open Friday and Saturday nights from Sept. 26–Nov. 1. Haunt tickets are by reservation only.

Mesilla Valley Maze (Las Cruces, NM)

Mesilla Valley Maze in Las Cruces celebrates the season Sept. 27–Oct. 26, open Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m.–7 p.m. (last admission at 6 p.m.). Families can enjoy hayrides, the giant corn maze, five giant slides and unique attractions like hamster wheels, Hobbit Holes, a bubble barn and the new lifesize pin art walls. With pumpkins, photo ops, flower fields and plenty of games, Mesilla Valley Maze is a beloved fall tradition in southern New Mexico.

Nevada

Gilcrease Orchard (Las Vegas, NV)

This year, Gilcrease Orchard invites fall-festive guests to pick their perfect pumpkin straight from the field, Sept. 27–Oct. 31, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 7–10 a.m. Tickets go on sale online in Sept., and advance purchase is required for entry. Visitors can wander through the orchard’s U-pick pumpkin patch, take a wagon ride and explore the corn and straw mazes.

Ferrari Farms Fall Festival (Reno, NV)

Ferrari Farms in Reno kicks off Sept. 27–Oct. 31, with a pumpkin patch, farm-fresh treats and family fun for all ages. Guests can mix and match activities like the corn maze ($10), hayride ($6 per person or $25 per family) and corn walk ($6), with pumpkins sold separately by size. Open Sunday–Thursday from 10 a.m.–8 p.m. and Friday–Saturday from 10 a.m.–10 p.m.

Cornbelly’s (Lehi and Spanish Fork, UT)

Cornbelly’s Pumpkin Fest & Corn Maze opens this fall at two Utah locations: Lehi (at Thanksgiving Point) from Sept. 19–Nov. 1 and Spanish Fork from Aug. 29–Nov 1. Admission closes one hour before posted closing times, so guests are encouraged to arrive early. Tickets are required; you can buy single-day passes, a season pass or bundles. Cornbelly’s features attractions across both locations, with giant corn mazes, pumpkin patches and family fun.

Pack Farms Pumpkin Patch (Farmington, UT)

Pack Farms Pumpkin Patch in Farmington has been a Utah fall tradition for over 30 years, offering U-pick pumpkins, hayrides, a hay maze and family-friendly fun just north of Salt Lake City. The patch opens Sept. 26 and runs Monday–Saturday from 10 a.m.–8 p.m. (closed Sundays). Admission is $5 per person (children 3 and under free), with extras like a giant PVC roller slide, hay pyramid, pumpkin tetherball and more.

Anderson Farms (Erie, CO)

Anderson Farms in Erie is home to one of Colorado’s largest pumpkin patches, with 30 acres and more than 70 varieties of pumpkins, squash and gourds. Fall Festival admission includes a scenic wagon ride pulled by antique Oliver tractors, with a handicap-accessible wagon available for groups and families. Guests can also pick up decorated pumpkins, corn stalks, straw bales, mums and other seasonal favorites (pricing varies).

Fritzler Farm Park (LaSalle, CO)

Fritzler Farm Park in LaSalle — opening Sept. 14 — brings fall fun to northern Colorado with a giant corn maze, U-pick pumpkin patch, festival food and even a beer garden. The Fall Festival runs on date-specific tickets (discounted when purchased online), and buying ahead guarantees entry in case of sellouts. By day, families enjoy classic farm fun, while by night the grounds transform into Scream Acres, Colorado’s No. 1 haunted attraction with a terrifying haunted corn maze.

Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, Pumpkin Village (Dallas, TX)

The Dallas Arboretum’s Pumpkin Village transforms into ¡Mundo México! this fall, with more than 110,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash arranged into monumental displays inspired by Mexican culture and artistry. Visitors can enjoy the magic at night on select dates from Sept. 22–Oct. 8, with evening hours from 6–9 p.m. Tickets are required, and themed nights feature craft beer and wine, Mexican cuisine from local food trucks, folkloric dancing and live music.

Hall’s Pumpkin Farm (Grapevine, TX)

This family-run fall favorite features pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, gourds, hay bales, corn stalks and a challenging corn maze. Hall’s Pumpkin Farm opens Oct. 3 and runs Wednesdays–Sundays (closed Mondays and Tuesdays except Columbus Day), with hours varying by day. Admission is $15 for adults and kids 12+ on weekends ($10 for ages 4–11), while midweek admission is $5, and all tickets include access to the corn maze.

Tanaka Farms in Irvine brings autumn to life with U-pick pumpkins straight from the vine, hayrides and plenty of photo ops for cozy family traditions.
