The Springs Resort is ready to host your next vacation
After a tropical rainstorm led to flooding in Pagosa Springs in early October, The Springs Resort experienced a brief service interruption, swiftly followed by restoration efforts.
Jesse Hensle, vice president of marketing at The Springs Resort, assures visitors that the property hasn’t endured any permanent damage. Guests can now safely and securely return to one of the nation’s most coveted hot springs destinations.
“The flooding certainly tested us, but our geothermal waters continue to flow safely, offering the same restorative experience our guests cherish,” Hensle says. “It’s a special time to visit and witness both nature’s power and Pagosa’s resilience.”

So many ways to relax, restore and more
The Springs Resort is home to more than 50 geothermal soaking pools fed by the world’s deepest hot spring — The Mother Spring. Having experienced these pools firsthand, we can attest to their combined health benefits. But the geothermal springs are only part of what the resort has to offer.
In addition to a full-service spa, the resort also offers:
- A panoramic sauna: The views here are stunning, overlooking the San Juan River and Downtown Pagosa Springs.
- Aqua sound baths: This was a favorite during our visit, providing deep relaxation in a geothermal pool, while listening to the soothing reverberations of sound bowls.
- A daily gratitude ceremony by the Mother Spring: What better way to express gratitude than in the midst of one of the most historically significant hot spring sources? After expressing their personal gratitudes, each guest gets to take a little of the Mother Spring home with them. I still have mine!
- Self-applied mud treatments at Mud Beach: Your skin will feel exfoliated and refreshed in the best way after basking in this magical mud.
- Aqua floating meditation: Start the day, or end the evening by — literally — going with the flow of soothing waters during a mindful meditation practice.
- Guided vitality plunges: These warm-to-hot-to-cold dips are not to be missed! The resort’s Medical Director and balneologist, Dr. Marcus Coplin, devised an entire guide to getting the most benefits from vitality plunges, as well as soaks in all onsite geothermal pools.
