Originally established in 1937, Taliesin West was more than a residence; it was Wright’s desert laboratory and a thriving center for creativity, art and community. Today, the Foundation continues that legacy through immersive tours, educational programming and cultural experiences that celebrate the connection between architecture and nature, while deepening public understanding of Wright’s work and enduring influence.
Tours bring history and architecture to life
This season’s offerings, open to the public and Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation members, include several returning favorites and brand-new experiences.
The Self-Guided Audio Tour returns with updated information and new additions. Starting in October, all visitors have the option to upgrade their experience with new Then & Now: A Match Game cards that feature historic views of Taliesin West.
The Shelters in the Desert Hike is back, offered Saturday, Sunday and Monday at 10 a.m., from October through April. This popular tour takes you through the Shelter Zone and explores the structures built by Wright’s Taliesin Fellowship.

The Behind-the-Scenes Tour is also returning, offered Tuesday through Friday at 10 a.m. This tour takes you behind the ropes into locations off the beaten path. For two hours, you and your small group will see special locations not available any other way.
New this season, the Golden Hour Sunset Hike is an opportunity to explore the Sonoran Desert during that magical time just before sunset. This 90-minute experience is available on Sunday evenings from October through February.
Back by popular demand are the interactive Family Tours, child-friendly adventures offered on select Fridays and Saturdays from October through April.
Artists who have ever wanted uninterrupted time to capture Taliesin West are in luck with the new Artist Pass, which allows one to comfortably capture the beauty of the buildings and landscapes for up to three hours.
Special events return with seasonal favorites
For adults, the popular Sunsets & Sips program will return one Thursday per month from October through May. Guests can enjoy the evening with a beverage in hand while exploring the serene outdoor pathways and select interior spaces of Taliesin West.
Another favorite, the Taliesin West Film Series, is back on select Fridays and Saturdays in the historic Cabaret Theater, originally used by Wright for performances, film screenings and artistic gatherings. Visitors can experience classic cinema in a timeless setting with showings of old Hollywood favorites.
Discovery Day is also returning this season on Nov. 1 and May 9. For just $5 (kids 12 and under are free), visitors will have the opportunity to explore Taliesin West at their own pace while enjoying engaging performances, family-friendly crafts, ask-me-stations and interactive demonstrations.
Youth and family programs inspire hands-on learning
For homeschooled students, the Homeschool Explorations program is offered twice a month, from October through April, inviting students to explore nature, science, engineering, art and architecture through hands-on lessons.
Taliesin West also welcomes teachers and students on Field Trips throughout the year. All K–12 programs have hands-on elements, celebrating Wright’s focus on learning by doing.
For campers, Camp Taliesin West returns with two-day winter break camps, a three-day spring break camp and a full summer of five-day camps for all ages. Taliesin West’s trained museum educators provide an enriching STEAM education rooted in Wright’s unique approach to design.
