North County San Diego is set to welcome an enchanting new lifestyle destination: Hotel Solea, debuting in Spring 2026 following a multi-million-dollar transformation of the former Sheraton Carlsbad Resort. The reimagined property will join the Marriott Bonvoy Autograph Collection as a boutique-inspired, botanical escape, beckoning guests to experience the effortless allure of the Southern California coast.

Hotel Solea will evolve the hospitality scene in Carlsbad, reinvigorating the destination as a coveted locale for families as well as design-driven leisure travelers, couples, and destination groups seeking casual luxury at its coastal-politan best.

Design and renovation highlights

At Hotel Solea, the lush SoCal experience will unfold across 201 spacious rooms and suites, each balancing modern design with coastal elegance. Guests can bask in the sun by the pool, savor perfectly crafted pours in the lively lobby hub, and immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of a hotel that will surprise and delight at every turn.

“Hotel Solea will embody our vision of casual luxury, a design-forward coastal retreat that reflects the beauty and vibrancy of Carlsbad while offering the elevated experiences travelers expect from a Marriott Bonvoy Autograph Collection hotel,” says Susan Le, regional director of marketing for Hotel Solea. “This extensive transformation will create an authentic experience that celebrates the spirit of North County San Diego, both relaxed and refined.”

With 70,000 square feet of versatile indoor and outdoor meeting space, Hotel Solea is poised to become Carlsbad’s premier setting for conferences, product launches, team-building retreats, and social celebrations.
