A landmark reborn in the heart of downtown New Braunfels
Owned by Lark Hospitality in partnership with the Duettra family and key investors, The Faust Hotel is located at 240 S. Seguin Ave. and has long stood as a cultural anchor in New Braunfels. Originally known as The Traveler’s Hotel, the property is recognized as a local, Texas and National historic landmark, making its revival both a restoration and a celebration.
The upcoming reopening marks a careful balance between preservation and progress, honoring nearly a century of history while welcoming a new generation of travelers.

Modern comforts with historic character
Each of the hotel’s 45 guest rooms will feature king beds with premium linens, walk-in showers with complimentary Lockwood bath products, custom bathroom vanities, 55-inch smart TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi, Nespresso coffee makers, and retro Frigidaire mini fridges.
Accommodations include nine junior suites and six corner suites, some of which can be expanded into three-bedroom layouts with separate living spaces, ideal for extended stays or group travel.
Throughout the redesign, original architectural elements have been carefully preserved. Guests will find historic stairway tiles, original doors, the front desk, phone booth, sconces and exterior fountain still intact. The lobby’s original tilework remains a focal point, inspiring the hotel’s refreshed color palette and overall design direction.

A refreshed design rooted in history
The Faust’s Spanish Colonial Revival architecture has been thoughtfully modernized, with exposed brick walls and cement columns uncovered during construction now intentionally woven into the interior design. Ornate crown moldings, expressive furnishings, bold wallpaper and whimsical art pieces add warmth and personality throughout the space, creating a layered aesthetic where history feels alive rather than archived.
“We are honored to be the next stewards of The Faust Hotel,” said hotel owner Andy Duettra. “This hotel means a great deal to the people of New Braunfels, and we have worked diligently to bring The Faust up to modern standards while preserving its legacy for future generations.”
Heritage-inspired dining and nightlife
The hotel will debut Wilhelm & Werner, a Texas brasserie with European influences, offering a light-filled dining experience complete with a skylight, indoor-outdoor fireplace, lounge seating, a long bar and expansive patio areas. The restaurant will seat 130 guests across the dining room, patio and bar.

Beneath the restaurant, guests will discover Walter’s, a basement speakeasy inspired by the Prohibition era, offering intimate ambiance and expertly crafted cocktails. Additional details on menus and programming will be announced closer to opening.
Also onsite is the Prince Solms Lobby Bar, a cozy gathering space serving both hotel guests and the refreshed Magnolia Patio, creating another inviting destination for locals and visitors alike.
A destination for gatherings and celebrations
Beyond overnight stays, The Faust Hotel is designed as a venue for connection and celebration. The hotel’s 2,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom can host up to 110 guests, making it ideal for executive meetings, retreats, weddings, special events and holiday gatherings.
With its central location, restored grandeur and thoughtfully curated experiences, The Faust Hotel is poised to once again become a cornerstone of downtown New Braunfels. To learn more, visit thefausthotel.com.
