Neck rejuvenation: Why your neck deserves the same attention as your face

Marissa Adbo of Aesthetic IQ Clinic holds a book in her hands.

The aesthetics industry is moving at lightning speed, with new products and technologies designed to deliver safe, natural-looking results. There are more options than ever for maintaining a youthful face, but one area has historically been harder to treat with truly impactful results: the neck. For many patients, neck rejuvenation has been the missing piece of an otherwise well-rounded anti-aging plan.

So what can you do when you’ve been investing in your face and your neck hasn’t kept up? Surprisingly, the answer may be something we’ve been injecting for well over a decade.

Your neck is telling on you

The “miracle” injecting elixir we hinted at for neck treatment is Radiesse. FDA-approved in 2006 for the correction of facial wrinkles and folds such as nasolabial folds, it was one of the first volumizing agents available in the U.S. market. Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) dermal filler, which differs from the hyaluronic acid fillers most people are familiar with.

When used full strength, Radiesse acts as a volumizing agent placed deep in the tissue to mimic bone and provide lift, helping build structure in areas like the cheeks or jawline.

But here’s where it gets exciting.

“Biostimulation helps correct and prevent signs of aging over time.”

When Radiesse is used in a hyperdiluted form, meaning saline is added to thin the product, studies show it behaves less like a traditional volumizer and more like a biostimulatory agent. And that’s the golden ticket.

Neck rejuvenation: the missing piece of anti-aging

Hyperdilute Radiesse delivers beautiful results in areas where the goal is to improve wrinkly, crepey or sagging skin, and it truly shines in the neck.

This minimally invasive treatment typically uses just five injection points to address the entire neck. Most patients leave with little to no visible evidence they’ve had treatment. Discomfort is generally minimal thanks to anesthetic added to the solution and applied at each injection site.

Subtle improvement can appear as early as three to four weeks after treatment, and results continue to build as the body produces new, healthy collagen and elastin. For optimal correction, we often recommend a series of two treatments spaced four weeks apart, followed by annual maintenance to keep collagen and elastin production stimulated.

Enhancing results with neuromodulators

If you want to take results even further, neuromodulators such as Botox can be added to help tighten and refine the muscles along the jawline and neck, enhancing the overall appearance. This quick, minimally invasive treatment typically lasts three to four months.

Each option works beautifully on its own, but together, they can make a noticeable, lasting impact on skin quality and definition.

If your neck is starting to give your age away, hyperdilute Radiesse and or tox may be a great option. The beauty of biostimulation is that it helps correct and prevent signs of aging over time, while tox can help snatch the jawline and neck for a more sculpted look.

In other words, it’s basically a 401(k) for your face, starting at the neck.
